MRIRT Rug 326/210
Authentic, natural and a piece of the Moroccan soul
A Beni M'rirt is a Berber rug with the same original motifs as a Beni Ouarain rug, but it is woven differently and more tightly... It is therefore denser and requires more wool!
The difference in finish is due above all to the fact that, at the end of the weaving process, the carpet is washed and rubbed at least 3 times, making the wool soft and silky! Because of this technique, which is not used on the Beni Ouarain, the look and feel are different! The wool strands are no longer distinct, because the wool is brushed! M'rirt carpets are so-called prestige carpets...
Beni Ouarain wool is unprocessed, giving it a more natural look. It's raw and unbrushed, so the wool strands are visually well separated!
It all depends on the style you're looking for - each has its own charm!
- the camel colored / beige wool is hand-knotted
- soft ton-sur-ton 3D pattern
- one of a kind
- ca 3m00 x 2m00
PLEASE NOTE: THIS RUG IS NOT MADE BY MACHINE. EACH PIECE IS A HANDMADE ITEM BY MOROCCAN ARTISANS, SO THERE MAY BE SLIGHT IMPERFECTIONS IN WEAVING, PATTERN, OR SHAPE. ALL VINTAGE OR OLDER ITEMS HAVE HAD A PREVIOUS LIFE. AS THESE RUGS WERE NOT ORIGINALLY MADE FOR RETAIL THERE MAY BE SLIGHT WEAR AND REPAIRS. WE DO NOT SEE THESE AS IMPERFECTION, BUT THE LOVE AND STORY BEHIND EACH PIECE.
